Guest mamoulian Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 The normal DesireHD 'poweroff' seems to put it in some kind of hibernate-like state, which allows it to start up real quick. But that doesn't actually reboot the OS to close all apps and clean memory, it just restores it exactly as it was before poweroff. You can easily see the difference if you remove the battery - it takes a normal time (for other phones) to boot and the notifications are gone. How can this be forced without removing the battery? The cover is a pain to get off and on and doesn't seem that solid...

Guest AndyCr15 Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 There is an option in settings to do proper shut downs on power off if you prefer.
Guest joners Posted November 4, 2010 Report Posted November 4, 2010 There is an option in settings to do proper shut downs on power off if you prefer. Specifically it can be found under: Settings - Applications - Fast Boot (Un Check the Box). However as mentioned its just as easy to restart.
Guest mamoulian Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Ah yes either does it nicely... thanks guys! :) Much snappier after a proper reboot, wonder what's causing that...
