Guest untrueparadox Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 since "some" people here got the leaked official dell froyo update "beta", care to share it. i don't care if it's buggy etc. thanks from what steve told me, you wont want it. its not just buggy, the whole rom has the same bugs as the 2.1 and the performance is nowhere near steve's. and its supposedly a difficult update to install so i wouldn't expect it to be released anytime soon.

Guest untrueparadox Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 difficult to install as in paul bricked his streak.. imagine that happening to more than one person..
Guest Cue_32 Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 difficult to install as in paul bricked his streak.. imagine that happening to more than one person.. Paul bricked his streak trying to make the install process easier and tweaking it up for us not because he was trying to install the ROM.
Guest gilrad Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Shouldn't the title be 'leaked official froyo'? Anyway you're all so impatient. Either Steve or Dell will get a decent build with the new kernel out very soon, so just relax.
Guest fards Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) There is no pkg file! Stop demanding one, when dell release a froyo pkg file then it will be freely available Considering how many people struggle with basic instructions like using an update.zip or fastboot clockwork, then releasing a leak that uses a damn site more finicky process that can completely brick, I do mean completely brick the streak is *not* a good idea... I completely agree with the second part of this posting, you've only got to have a quick look through the threads to find pleas of help from those who have not followed instructions :) :) . Be patient and get a good, hopefully, result from Dell or an even better one from Paul
Guest mike_ekim Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Some people on these forums have been very generous in donating their own time and bricking their own devices so we can have better roms. I don’t see the merit in asking for more and then re-asking when the answer is ‘no’. People are building roms for us on their free time because they want to help us, and they are not giving us crap roms that brick phones for the same reason - because they want to help us. Other people in the world would gladly give you a crap rom and never do a bit of work to improve it. Be grateful we are dealing with the better type of people on this forum, and if they draw the line at not giving you a crap rom then please realize that personality trait is part of what makes them build us good roms in the first place. Asking them to change is like asking them to be less helpful, and if you keep it up you might succeed – they will become less helpful and stop working on updates. If you’re going to ask someone for a rom, ask Dell. Dell has PAID developers who are paid with YOUR MONEY to build and debug roms. --- Oh, and thanks again for giving us better builds and not giving us crap builds.
