Dell Stage UI Widgets + Home Launcher APK Pack

This is for you anxious people who can't get the 1.2.0 working or just running a completely different phone. The widgets require no dependencies or frameworks so just install these apk's in this zip one by one with a file browser on your phone. You will have to use Dell's laggy and awkward launcher though, and Android 2.2 (Froyo) is required.

These were pulled from Steve's 1.2.0 update (Dell Froyo build 10688) so it's nothing new. Screen DPI must be set to 160 in order for this to work.

When i saw this i thought nice, i quite liked the look of the stage music and browser widgets

After downloading and installing though i found out that i had to use the dell stage launcher to use the widgets :)

They are really nice widgets, pity the launcher is poop

No, sorry I thought I made this clear in my previous post

It looks like the DELL Stage widgets are proprietary to the DELL Launcher. If this is not the case then someone please correct me but I found that I could only use the DELL Stage widgets with the DELL Launcher

Hit the home button, you should be presented with the option to use ADW.Launcher or DELL Stage

I think the .apk files are for use on froyo 2.2 devices only.

that's if you don't have any other launchers installed. if you do, you have to go into settings -> applications -> manage apps -> all apps and clear the defaults for all the launchers.

anyone have any luck logging into the facebook widget? mine always says user/pass cannot be verified.

Thanks for uploading those.

If nothing else it's shown me how I don't like the stage UI and I won't be tempted to flash the new Dell rom when it appears shortly. Will wait for Steve's version if he makes one.

buy the app called root explorer in the market and navigate it to /system

long press the file called build.prop and scroll down to where it says ro.sf.lcd_density and set it = 160.

i tore apart the apk and it does seem to have skins and mappings for "hdpi" and "mdpi". it works in 200dpi but some elements were obscured and didnt look too great. i can confirm that 240dpi looks decent though, albeit too big on the streak.

you can just rotate the screen. sometimes it does get stuck and you have to go into setting -> display -> uncheck and check rotate device to get rotation back.
