Guest EddyOS Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 You're not on Orange, you have a generic Desire. Did you debrand it or has it always been on this software version? If it's always been on this version, and you don't mind losing your data, you can download the latest RUU to flash it again. You can get it here: http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...783-signed-exe/
Guest EddyOS Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) The other option you have, if you don't wanna lose your settings, is to manually apply the OTA updates. To do this, download this file: http://liveimage.htc.com//OTA_Bravo_HTC_WW...mtp6zggcyon.zip and rename update.zip (not update.zip.zip) and copy it to the root of your sd card (not in any folders) Turn the Desire off and turn it on again whilst holding the volume down button. You'll boot onto a white screen and once its checked for files use the volume keys to highlight Recovery and press power to select. Once at the screen with the red ! hold volume up and press power. On the menu that appears select 'apply sd:update.zip' and follow the instructions. This will get you to 1.21.405.2, to go to the next version you should be able to use the normal method to install the next OTA IF YOU HAD TO USE A GOLD CARD BEFORE TO DEBRAND THEN YOU'LL NEED YOUR GOLD CARD FOR ALL OTA UPDATES Edited November 5, 2010 by EddyOS

ONCE AGAIN THANKS Edited November 5, 2010 by OLLY0611
Guest EddyOS Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 (edited) Are you rooted at the moment? If so, and if you don't mind losing your data, I suggest using the RUU to go to one of the latest ROM versions as you can alway root it again if you need to...you will need you gold card at all times though The OTA update will remove root access but can be rooted again if needed. Personally, as you're so out of date, I'd go the RUU route and start again - give your phone a clean slate Edited November 5, 2010 by EddyOS

Guest EddyOS Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Well, the reason you didn't get any before is because I don't think the HTC server was pushing updates the that build number any more. You should be OK now, although 2.29.405.2 isn't even being pushed OTA yet...:)
