Hey Guys!

Im using cm6 right now and i have some questions regarding the tweaks:

1. i cant create a swapfile. always when i hit "on" in swapper 2 it says: "swapoff:can't stat '/sdcard/swapfile.swp': no such file or directory" which one should i choose? ive also tried to recreate one.

2. ive flashed the oc zip, how can i set the cpu speed?

3. why do people prefer dta2sd?

thanks :)

In swapper 2 settings - advanced, choose swap partition on! :)

download a paid app called setcpu from market :( set it via the app!

Anddark tremor a2sd moves the whole app to sd, where as froyo a2sd only moves part :(

Ok, re swapper2:

This always happens when you turn on swap. You need to wait (about a minute max) and then it recreates new swp file and you will get several messages saying its set up. Make sure you set up your size/swapiness first in menu>settings. I like swapper2 better than DTswap, easier to see whats going on, theres no swap partition needed and easy to resize and change settings if needed.

DTA2SD is better than FroyoA2SD in every respect in my opinion:

heres why:

1) It uses EXT not FAT32 files system default. Faster /safer (file commits changes to disc only once data verified so no chance of corruption of data mid write) see http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/232773...rsus-fat32-ntfs for more info)

2) It doesn't encrypt the apps and put them in an obscure place (it stores them as APKs in ext partition) - FroyoA2SD uses more processing power to encrypt apks and also means you can't copy/edit/backup them (or find them!) - seems to serve no purpose than to add copy protection for big developers, a pain for open source developers.

3) DTA2SD works with all apps including widgets (unlike froyo)

4) It uses less internal cache memory when installing apks than froyo (cache files)

5) It loads apps quicker than FroyoA2SD (well, according to some )

I agree completely on DT A2SD being superior to the built-in Froyo option.

But, I prefer having a dedicated swap partition.

I have asked you on another topic, but I'll ask you here too. Have you got Clockworkmod / Amon RA installed? You DON'T need to enter fastboot to flash the OC kernel, you just flash it like a regular zip on your recovery.
