SD card and SIM change issues

Two issues have been nagging me..on official Singapore 2.1 ROM installed unofficially thru KDZ updater :-)

Firstly when I change SIM cards, the phone goes into the irritating 'com.android.phone' problem that makes it unusable without factory reset. seems a fairly common Android annoyance, going by google searches. But anyone found that on GT540 and if yes found any workarounds? I keep swopping SIMs as I travel a lot. Thankfully I have not installed new apps since I am waiting for the ROM to stabilise a bit after 2.1 upgrade so it is not a big issue to do factory reset and re-sync contacts etc., with Google.

Second, when I put in a new kingston class 4 micro-sd 8GB card, if often notified that sd card has been unexpectedly removed, and re-reads it. This happens even when phone is just lying on desk and does not happen when you shake it, so it is not contact issue...
