Streak wont turn on after fastboot reboot

Hi all

My streak appears to be completely dead.

I was on Steve's v1.0. I flashed the new 1.2 rom and baseband but had the leds flashing so read around the forum and reflashed the amss1.2.mbn over fastboot, then typed 'fastboot -i 0x413c reboot' holding down the vol keys to get to cwr as per the instructions to then flash v1.1 ROM

Streak went off and never came back. Windows XP recognises something is attached and lets me install the android adb drivers, but that is it.

Left it on charge overnight (12 Hours) in case it was a battery thing, but that has not helped it didn't show any sign of charging at all. Still dead this morning. Power button does nothing, no lights, no screen, nout.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Have you tried a battery pull?

Will it load the factory reset menu?

Yeah, pulled the battery for an hour. Still nothing. Power button still shows no sign of activating the leds or the screen.

Thinking it will have to be a warranty/insurance replacement.

after leaving the battery out for an hour or two the 3 leds now light with a power press, but camera+power does nothing, nor does vol+power.

Bad bootloader flash?

Anyway to push the bootloader via fastboot/somehow in windows without having the fastboot screen?

Noticed the last file to flash had a filesize of 4kb amss1.2.mbn whereas the new one is 15mb. could this be the problem?

Anyway can someone at least just indicate whether it can be fixed or is completely unrepairable so I can bin it an organise a new one?

bump

any one have any idea why "fastboot -i 0x413c reboot" would completely kill a streak?

I'll get mine replaced, but it might help others avoid a similar fate??

Mechanically it must be fine, so there must be a way to get it to turn on. Still all buttons do *nothing* (as if there was no battery present).

Cheers

touched android for the first time ever today; please talk to me as if i were a 5 year old

adb as in can i talk to it via fastboot? yes.

i tried flashing it again (1.2.0), did a factory reset, get the dell logo color animation thing two times and then it just stays at the logo. i have access to every boot mode, however, so it is not dead. it's just... stuck, i guess?

follow the install instructions to the letter if i were you (ie dont fac reset after flash 1.2 that will cause the dell freeze

but it did say to reset? i followed the instruction letter by letter from an australian 8116 build...

any ideas as to how to un-freeze it?

yes it said to reset while on 1.1.1  not 1.2

The original instructions calls for a factory reset... I didn't, and everything seems to work fine. If something stuffs up or you want to make sure you start from a clean slate, that might be a good idea

that's what it said on that page where i got my instructions from; ah well, should have stuck to yours

so do you reckon reflashing to 1.1.1 and then to 1.2.0 would work? or would the new baseband screw it up? how would i fix it?

//EDIT:

got it to work. for anybody who happens to run into a reboot cycle after 1.2.0:

fastboot amss.2.1.mbn

install 1.1.1 from sdcard

reboot.

fastboot amss.2.2.mbn

install 1.2.0 from sdcard

reboot.

do not factory reset in either cases

I fell victim to this issue. I cannot seem to find the amss.2.1.mbn after hours of searching. Could you post or direct me to the file? Or is it still necessary?
