I'm new to roms, etc and i want to upgrade my phone to android 2.2 . When i search i find so many different builds, etc. Can you please tell me which is the best and latest?, I want the rom to be as close to the actual android 2.2 experience as possible.

Thank you.

at this point, i think the best froyo rom is LCR-F

CM6.1 might be better at a later time, but right now due to all modifications in cyanogenmod some features don't work.

LCR-F has everything working except overclocking, but it runs fine at 768mhz.

you can also find instructions on how to install a .bin ROM, and how to update it to LCR-F, on their website.

you must download acer download tool http://lcr-team.org/v1/download.php?fileID=25

after clicking on button / Browse and select the bin that you download and flash your phone :)

Edit : do not forget to enable USB debugging on your phone

Menu> Settings> Applications>> Development>> Check USB debugging

In the lcr-f can i change the theme to look like the actual froyo(eg: like the froyo on nexus one) instead of the black theme?

yes and no.

lcr-f comes with a tool to apply themes, but nobody made a stock-android theme yet.
