I have to say that the 1.2.0 with the Dell stage is really nice and I feel by far it is the best update to date . All my apps are working with no issues and the batter life has gotten a lot better . Please post your like and dislikes . I am not even thinking about the tab anymore be ayes the Dell streak is doing everything I need it to do and it's a phone so don't need to have to things with me and I even get to enjoy my iPad when I'm on the road or at a cafe I love the hotspot option .

I like 1.2 :) :)

+1 but I can't wait to see his Cyanogen mod version though.

Very happy!

Still some broken hardware but I'm not expecting miracles when we don't actually have the source to work from.

All in all tremendous bit of work from Steve, fards and the others.

So far it's been very good although I did not like the Dell Stage at first but have been changing it to

suit what I did was remove the two Widgets either side of the boot window which I liked and installed the ones I removed

on the Ends which are blank, so I had no overlap on the main window..you can then use the blank windows left and right to put any Apps

that you need ...if you keep them either to the far right or left they don't show on the main window but if you have Apps

like battery meter etc. you can put them so they show,

Look a lot better in my opinion .

Did it help with the laggy-ness? I like it for the widgets but it's also laggy for the same reason. :(hh

uptime 19hrs - battery level = 73%, make of that what you will.

I still have to no love for dell stage, i thought they'd impress me and copy the widget resize option available in other launchers. plus not allowing us to use the home widget properly.

there is a reason most phones group apps together as its just tidier and just makes sense. if the dell home widget could be resized to fill the whole screen or why not screens? lol you could add your own most used apps and even have tabs with group names (phone) (games) (tools) etc so they are arranged better.

whilst im at it why do we only have one big app drawer? how about tap to open the main drawer and down slides something akin to a chest of drawers lol you then tap the games drawer which slides open revealing the games etc.

any way ive no bugs to report all reflashed back to 1.1.1 then to 1.2.0 fine, great work from Steve and and the helpful community here.

Hi all,

Now although unlike some i really did like the original Dell UI i just really don't like the Stage UI at all and what i find really strange is that from the original 1.6 that our Streaks shipped with where everything was mainly set up to work in Landscape it appears with this new Stage UI it is better suited to being used in Portrait which is quite a turn around by Dell IMO. Just as well that as always we have so many options that allow us to all choose what suits us best but i do wonder just how much sooner we may of seen an official 2.2 Rom if they hadn't bothered with the Stage UI which I'm guessing has taken a lot of time and effort to get up and running. I'm more than happy to stick with Steve's Roms and ADW launcher over what Dell are now offering us so just have no interest in Dells official 2.2 Rom now.

The stock froyo from dell should bring us some extra goodies we can use, to fix last remaining issues in steves..

What, you mean its going to get even better than this? Not sure I can handle this much joyfulness.

My two step install from v1.0 to v1.1.1 and then to v1.2 went perfectly.

My use experience is transformed with big improvements in general speed and smoothness.

Previously I had reported a bug :-

“The flickering WiFi signal from Signal Strength% to 100% also seems to have an effect on the screen responsiveness. Ranging from sluggish to unusable.”

http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/streakdroi...-buglist-2.html - post172631

So I am ecstatic to report that all of these issues have been well and truly sorted.

Its good, but there is a killer for me. GPS kills data. Anytime i try to navigate data drops. Maps and Earth are useless as a result. In fact almost anything will kill data which makes the device kinda useless.

Hi, all works for me, except compass on Google Maps Navigation.

1.2 is very, very good = nearly everything works flaw free

I've gone back to v1.0 as i can tether thru barnicle & the music external sound & youtube lock up issue (which i don't get on 1.0) kinda spoiled the magic

but if i never used these things then i'd stick with 1.2 for sure

Maybe check your settings?

I have just come home having used GPS perfectly. Initially the phone couldn't access Data on my O2 network until I checked the boxes 'Data enabled' & 'Data Roaming' in Settings/Wireless & Networks/Mobile Networks/

You can tell when this is working by the H that appears next to the mobile network signal strength meter.

No they are ticked. The data icon disappears as soon as GPS starts, it will only come back if i manually untick and retick them again.

My data works fine with GPS on and working, but you aren't insane, my data also dies at random. Mainly Wifi in my case. I'll have wifi on and be browsing a website or something and get a "Page not found". I look up and notice the wifi icon is gone, and go to settings and it's off, when I was literally just browsing with wifi.

Interestingly sometimes if the data isnt on the GPS will start if data is requested. Something is messed up in the drivers i think.

Hi, all works for me, except compass on Google Maps Navigation.

Had the same problem after flashing.

First do a compass recalibration from the compass menu, then start up Google Maps and take a walk.

Sounds dumb, I know, but the act of walking down the street and back (better if you walk in different directions, say a stroll through the park like I did?) will get it calibrated and pointing in the right direction.

Yup, start up compass and hit the menu button.

Has a calibrate option, has you waving the thing in a figure 8 in front of you.

My daughter thought I had lost it when I calibrated mine.

Dont have a compass app installed, see plenty on the market though, any of them worth using?

I'm using ZP compass, I really like it.

Otherwise the app called compass works fine, it was the first one I tried and has the calibration menu.

Done! It works now!

Thanks.
