Mobile internet outage

Got a problem but don't know if it's a coincidence, the sim card, android or orange! Hoping someone might be able to help narrow it down.

It's pretty simple really, when out and about, I appear to have 3G signal, sometimes full bars. but web based apps fail to function (Twitter, listen, Facebook. browser etc.)

It normally works again at some point but the outages are more than a few minutes. I've seen no similar issue with wifi although I'm testing.

Had an orange dext before, which had the same issue (in fact it also had a problem whereby on occasion I could hear a caller, but they couldn't hear me)

So as I'm seeeing the same issue I wonder if anyone has anything I could try to narrow down the issue.
