Guest Broc Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I put the phone on silent until the morning but at the same time I would also like to turn off wi-fi, gps, and anything else that I don't need on overnight. And a second question (if you only have the answer to one please still post) ... is it ok to leave the phone charging when it's already at 100%. Say I'm going out in a couple of hours, my phone is at 100%, and I want to make sure I leave the house with it at 100%, will it harm the battery to just leave it plugged in? thanks

There's an app called Setting Profiles that lets you turn all those sorts of things on or off depending on the time/location etc., or simply by tapping a widget. If you just want to create one profile for overnight, you can get away with the free version. On the battery question, you should be OK - a device as new as this ought to switch to trickle charge when it reaches 100%. But battery technology is a black art - some people will tell you it's not a good idea, others will say it's OK but let it run down fully from time to time. Personally I always leave my laptop plugged in (rarely running the battery down at all) and after 4+ years it still has over half its original capacity, so that's one data point that suggests it's OK to leave lithium ion batteries plugged in.
