Guest sillup2 Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 Hello everybody. I'd like to modify the file association for mp3 files, changing it from the Media Player (the classic one, which is in the menu... it doesn't say its version!) to the "Windows Media Player 10 Mobile for Pocket PC" (which is for example opening .wmv files by default). Essentially the equivalent of the "Open with" in Windows for pc. Can anybody help? Thanks in advance! :)

Perhaps TotalCommander (Freeware) could do the same... Have a try! GreeZ! Freezy1982
Guest sillup2 Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 (edited) Thank you very much: I found how to manage file associations using Total commander (which I had already installed). The only problem is that, when trying to open an mp3 file, I get the error message "the system cannot find the file specified": is it possible that the Windows Media player is unable to play mp3 files (maybe only video files)? I have also tried with the "Open with" utility, but I found no additional lines in the contextual menu... ...can anyone suggest an mp3 player that is as light as possible ? Guest sillup2 Posted November 7, 2010 Report Posted November 7, 2010 Here! I did it! I was doing wrong in the syntax: the Parameter for the opening of the file is to be "%1" and not only %1! Thanks everybody! Ciao! :)
Guest Alex Crow Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Use Resco Explorer. Long Tap file - Open-Open with Then select EXE and check Always use this software for this file type.
