Guest TheTwiddler Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 BTW, has anyone got any pictures of the phone? has it got a cheap and nasty logo on it like the Orange ones? Quick google and found this: ZTE Blade - Bouygues Telecon Enjoy
Guest oh!dougal Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 BTW, has anyone got any pictures of the phone? has it got a cheap and nasty logo on it like the Orange ones? And here's what its GOING to look like in Japan ... http://mb.softbank.jp/mb/smartphone/product/003z/index.html Google translate indicates that its mid-Dec 2010 for this 2.2 ... ! And yes, it does seem to have a 5 mp camera ... Its going worldwide, but the modules seem to be configurable to suit the local market expectations. Japan, the better camera, but ... still without flash (strobe), will they be impressed? At least its hopeful for a large 'ecosystem' of accessories, spare batteries, etc ...
Guest Blasphemous Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Quick google and found this: ZTE Blade - Bouygues Telecon EnjoyI prefer that ZTE logo on the front to the San Francisco one.
Guest yens Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I prefer that ZTE logo on the front to the San Francisco one. I prefer San Francisco. Doesn't sound as cheap as ZTE. Anyway, here are the pics:
Guest jonathonf Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Hate to ask the obvious, but have Bouygues got a support area or similar on the website? Might they have made available the source code?
Guest mELIANTE Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Hate to ask the obvious, but have Bouygues got a support area or similar on the website? Might they have made available the source code? Already looked for it, found nothing
Guest Raspa Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I prefer that ZTE logo on the front to the San Francisco one. Same here, ZTE sounds a lot less tacky & cheap than "San Francisco".
Guest oh!dougal Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I prefer that ZTE logo on the front to the San Francisco one. Have folk closely studied those photos of the ZTE? Personally, I think that WITHOUT the overall black/glass front cover, it looks MUCH cheaper, and the screen looks smaller. So, it looks cheaper, even though its actually getting on for twice the UK price (€199 is about £170) Purely on elegance, the smooth front wins. Consider the price, and I'm very relaxed about sticking 'San Francisco' in my ear. However, at least Bouygues buyers won't have to ask where the light and proximity sensors are hidden, plus screen protectors will be smaller and squarer ... Thank you Orange, for making the phone available at a reasonable price, and making it look better than 'standard' ...
Guest yens Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Actually it has the glass front cover. The photo is somewhat misleading there... (maybe because of the flash..)
Guest oh!dougal Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Actually it has the glass front cover. ... It must be very clean! It looks like the background for the front ZTE and the border round the screen is "grey" (matching the sides and back of the phone). On the SF its black, matching the front buttons. I like the look of that, it makes the screen seem bigger!
Guest HACKDROID Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 The UK SF has Baseband P729BB01, and Build Number P729BV1.9.0B05 (And of course Model Number is Orange San Francisco.) Dunno the significance, other than that there are differences. I've seen reports of the Bouygues Blade having the OLED screen (and having 2.1 despite rumours that it would have 2.2 -- perhaps ZTE were running late on 2.2 !). If you have about 150mb (or more) free in "phone storage" then it looks (to me) LIKELY to be hardware identical to the SF ... but please don't take my word for it! my blade from orange shows build number ouk-p729bv1.0.0b05 as opposed to yours p729bv1.9.0b05
Guest fishb00n Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 (edited) I dont think there are any changes regarding the hardware layout except, ZTE Logo on front and back. Edited November 9, 2010 by fishb00n
Guest SpeRator Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I want to buy it from france, but i live in germany. Is there a shop which delivered to germany?
Guest oh!dougal Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 my blade from orange shows build number ouk-p729bv1.0.0b05 as opposed to yours p729bv1.9.0b05 You are absolutely correct - my tired mistake seeing it as the same as the Bouygues number! (Don't think there seems to be any significant difference other than in the French apps and decorations.)
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Someone asked me for some screen shots of the home screen...
Guest Sebastian404 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Oh and the opening 'animation'
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Has a dump of the rom been uploaded somewhere? I'd like to compare it to the Orange one too see if it's based on the same build or if the french build is newer/updated.
Guest jonathonf Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 It's on page 2 of this thread, posted by Seb404. Considering there are only three pages, and this one isn't really a page, you haven't read very far.

Though its the same Kernel, it would indeed be interesting to know if any ZTE things like the FM Radio and Camera software had been changed beyond French 'localisation'.
Guest Niks10 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 my blade from orange shows build number ouk-p729bv1.0.0b05 as opposed to yours p729bv1.9.0b05 Mine is also showing ouk-p729bv1.0.0b05 Purcahsed from orange telesales for £78.99

Considering there are only three pages, and this one isn't really a page, you haven't read very far. I did, but I didn't pay attention. I thought it was just a recovery image, not a full ROM.
Guest oh!dougal Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Mine is also showing ouk-p729bv1.0.0b05 Purcahsed from orange telesales for £78.99 My lame brain mistake of page 1 was pointed out and admitted on page 2. Since its been pointed out AGAIN, I've gone back and corrected the original mistake before anyone else points it out ...
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) Several libs are not identical between the builds, also the wifi driver is different. Orange build: ro.build.date=Sat Jul 24 21:32:24 CST 2010 French build: ro.build.date=Thu Sep 16 19:23:52 CST 2010 So for better or worse the French ROM is a more recent build. Orange: ro.com.google.gmsversion=2.1_r6 French: ro.com.google.gmsversion=2.1_r7 Edited November 10, 2010 by kallt_kaffe

Guest mELIANTE Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Is the update file compatible with the orange's blade? I'm tempted to test this without the branded stuff...
