Changing Task Bar Colour?

How on earth do i change the task bar colour to black.. ive tryed searched but i can't find anything on this.. By the way, I'm new to all this android stuff so be kind :rolleyes:

All this stuff is kept in the system/frameworks folder on the root of the device

I am no themer but I have seen themes on this forum, all you need is a rooted device and a custom recovery installed or RootExplorer from the market

Im on a 2.2 rom, and have used this:

Just follow the instructions carefully and make sure you do a backup before flashing.

One problem Ive found with this is the clock and date on the notification bar stay black so not visible when the whole taskbar is black. No biggie for me, but would love to know how to change this if anyone figures it out!

I think you can change the notification bar text with Spare Parts from the market
