Guest djl208 Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I have an unbranded, rooted Desire running 2.2. My screen randomly freezes and cannot be used from several minutes, up to an hour or so. There is no set pattern to when this happens. I have done a hard reset, which has not sorted the problem. I am currently using the phone without the memory card to see if that is the problem, but the screen has already frozen briefly. All the buttons work properly and any function controlled via buttons works when the screen is non-responsive, so it is not the phone that has fozen just the screen. I have had the phone for 6 weeks. Is this likely to be some sort of hardware problem or software? Has anybody else had this problem (couldn,t find anything from a search)? A touch screen phone where the screen does not respond to touch is a bit frustrating!
Guest djl208 Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 Bumping this to see if anyone has any suggestions! I have now reset the phone twice and tried 2 different sd cards, both of which have been wiped and reformatted. Still having the same problem. After resetting and clearing the cards the phone works perfectly for 24 hrs, but eventually the screen stops responding again. Has anyone else had this or a similar problem? I am loathed to take the phone back to Carphone Warehouse to be repaired as I feel they will do a factory reset, see that it works fine for a few hrs and then send it back to me. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Guest djl208 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 i think flash another rom will solve the problems B) with kind regards..Alex Thanks for the suggestion Alex. I flashed one of the ROMs on here, but I am still getting the same problem, although less often. Think I may have to send it back in to HTC.

My screen can be a little like that sometimes, not lasting more than a few seconds though. I find when it gets like this, a reboot solves the problem. Also, I find it worse if the phone is cold. Alison Well I've taken it back to Carphone Warehouse to look at, so I will see if they can find and cure the problem.
