Guest aidfarh Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Appreciate if anybody can give me any pointers. I have an unbranded Desire running MCR R9 WIP. Earlier today, I flashed with the latest Sub501 kernel with the default Init Mod and everything was going fine for awhile. At some point, I rebooted the phone and the screen hung at the white screen with HTC logo. So I pulled the battery and rebooted but it still hung at the white screen. I then rebooted into Recovery and decided to reflash with MCR R9, just in case some files got corrupted. It failed midway with an error mounting DATA. So now the situation is, I can boot the phone into Recovery, but going into the partitions menu and choosing mount /data failed with the message: Error mounting DATA. Mounting other partitions work fine. I can adb shell, but if I try the command mount /data I get the error message: mount: mounting /dev/block/mtdblock5 on /data failed: Not a directory. Obviously, something is wrong with the data partition on the nand. Does anybody have any ideas?
Guest aidfarh Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Never mind. I finally decided to format the /data partition from recovery. It worked. So I did a full wipe and reflashed MCR R9. Everything seems to be working fine now. I guess I'll stay away from Sub501's scripts from now on. The previous version I tried caused my phone to overheat when charging. Strangely, the version that's bundled with R9 never seemed to cause any problems.
