Seems as though when I try and use any other wired headset with my streak the microphone will not work.

I am running Froyo v1.1.1. I called dell to troubleshoot and they sent me a new phone. However I am still experiencing the same exact issue. Anyone else experience this before?

I tried using Sony's earphones on Dell streak. The controls work fine for music player. But the microphone does not work.

These earphones work fine for iphone though.

I used iPhone headsets with my Streak (on 1.6 and 2.1) without any problems. A cat took a bite out of them some time ago and I've not gotten replacements so I have no idea about 2.2.

Hello,

I bought a headpone with mic from nokia, but the sound was very muffled, with no stereo, and the mic wasn't working. when plugged in a normal computer, same troubles.

I opened the button place, and did some rewiring, but even if I did have some improvement, I still have an unperfect sound, and even if the mic and buttons are now working, when I'm calling someone, there is an echo very important, so I cannot use it to speak...

I noticed there were a 50 Ohms resistance with the push button... is it a value used for the streak ?

I'm wondering what's wrong....

to summarize, does anyone know exactly what's inside a standard headset for the streak, is there a resistance for exemple ?

and what should be the normal wiring ? maybe am I doing something wrong !

Boujou Bien.

edit : ok so I solved my problem : I had to invert the ground with the mic, they are inverted on nokia compared to others... and one wire wasn't correctly soldered... now it works fine !

so the wiring is classical, like for a samsung galaxy S for exemple, and it seems that apples use the same pattern than nokia... meaning that you can listen music with those headphone, but you can't use the mic... am I right ?
