searched around the forum a bit but failed to find solutions so please bother a bit with these questions....

I'm now on 2.2 froyo, I tried to install vm heap tool but it fails to open. It either freezes or it just force close itself.

Another problem is that I can't change my input method. I know it's pressing on the lower left box and then select "input method", I've done that but nothing happens, I'm still stuck with the stock keyboard.

can anyone please help me with those problems?

You can modify the VM heap size yourself via RootExplorer from the market, you have to pay for it but its well worth it the vm hea size is detailed in the build.prop located on the system partition

Keyboard: get swiftkey beta from the matket think beta is still available otherwise get the paid one, when you open swiftkey it guides you through how to set up the seyboard - once you know this you can do the same for all the keyboards you want to install

its not lower left box mate , its the box which you write in , the one that displays the letters/digits you type

if you´re using gforums froyo the vm heapsize is already set to 48mb, so you really don´t need to change it =)
