Guest tpipe Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Looking for a desktop dock that can charge my SF whilst I'm at work. Had no luck searching online so far, has anyone had a similar shaped device before, if so what device? Maybe the dock for that phone will also fit the SF. Thanks
Guest AndyHibberd Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Nokia E71 and Samsung i900 are similar shapey shapes.
Guest jtc42 Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Sorry to ressurect this thread that seemed kinda dead but I was looking around for something as well. Has anyone had any luck getting another dock to work with the Blade?
Guest That-Guy Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Would also be interested in some sort of Dock.....
Guest Junior Bear Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I'd like to know also. Would it relate to the desk clock dock thing? In the clock app on the blade
Guest quintenu Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 I gave up looking for a desktop dock and bodged my own ;) (not much) more info here: http://awooga.nl/droidock Total cost: £0 ;)

Guest feckineejit Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) Why don't you ask Paul which one he is using in this video, it seems to do the job. Edited February 4, 2011 by feckineejit

Guest nitko Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 We really need desktop dock, it would be so nice to have something droid-like. (as long as we have microusb on the side) so being modest, something like this would do: ;) any idea which dock would fit to blade?
Guest Nuuna Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I have these they fit perfectly and low cost ;)
Guest fonix232 Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I have these they fit perfectly and low cost ;) We are looking for a DOCK (USB charging, connection to PC, etc) not a stand! BTW I began working on my own little dock, still making the design, but it will be cut out from some plastic, will fit the blade perfectly (kinda hard to do it, the phone's side is pretty weird-shaped) and also, some insider-stuff: - USB connector for PC/charging - PCB for a nice USB host function (4 USB mother) - Separate light statuses for the stuff (will have some crystal-plate like stuff on it, those color will say what's going on inside) - built-in speaker (gets input from USB) - VGA out Most functions will only work on the USB Host kernel though ;)
Guest TUSSFC Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 I'd pay decent money for that :-)
Guest thedandyp Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Why don't you ask Paul which one he is using in this video, it seems to do the job. Isn't that just a stand?

Where can i get that kernel :P EDIT: Ok i found the answer.... i have also planned to make a dock so thats great news but needs a lot of hacking :D after you get thing running please give us also a know-how  i'll start my project in next month so your info is more than welcome. I'm still doing the design, can't decide one that fits the blade :S But I will post my stuff as soon as I can begin working on it :P For that, I will need someone with proper knowledge about PCB, USB matchings, etc. I know nothing about them :S

Guest FelixL Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 (edited) I'm searching for something to connect the Blade to my car radio. It's a Kenwood, the pinout and protocol of the CD changer port is known. 3 of the pins on the Kenwood are normal audio pins (left channel, right channel, audio ground), they can just be connected to the headset jack and the audio gets from the phone to the car. I've already done this so far for my HTC Hero, and it still works for the Blade. But it would be great if I could a ) use the knobs on the radio to change the song and not only the volume and B ) use only the usb-port, so the device gets charged the same time and I don't have to connect two things. a ) would have been possible by using an arduino to translate the protocol of the Kenwood CD changer port and trigger the next-song function of the HTC Hero headset. But the Blade doesn't have the function to change the song through the headset. a ) AND B ) maybe could be solved by using the USB. So, is this possible? Even better than just triggering the next song would be a function to broadcast an intent, e.g. to start an app, so I could press 1 on the radio to get to the music app, 2 to get to the internet radio, and 3 to get to google maps navigation. All these buttons send there information out to the CD changer, and the arduino could easily notice this. Only question: how do I get this information from the arduino to the Blade? If I would build something like an ADB-server on the blade that can only connect and send intents (and that's already hard enough if not impossible), I would need the Blade to be in device mode. But for audio out over USB I'd need host mode... Is it possible to use audio out over USB and trigger events on the Blade? Edited February 7, 2011 by FelixL
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 with my ipod video i have the cable with 3 RCA (audio left right and video) and a usb. something similar for the blade ??

But, you would need some kind of an app what gets the signals from USB and runs the parsed command.
Guest ups Posted April 28, 2011 Report Posted April 28, 2011 Any luck in getting a working dock? Actually, i'm looking for several docks: a work, bedside and car dock. I found a car dock, but it costs 100 euros so is totally out of the question :S
