Guest igor_anta Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I tried the new Opera Mobile on the CM6.1 port but it just crashes after the splash screen, no FC or anything it just disappears  Anyone had any luck with it or is it still a beta issue with some devices? Cheers!

Guest primo007 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Works for me on CM6.1 0.30 but I don't like it. It's a sluggish 20 MB piece of crap.

Guest spanner44 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I have tried a few of the browsers without still making up my mind although I seem to use opera most of the time. personally I think the speed seems okay, certainly not slower than any of the others, and feel it is really easy to use and read the web pages. I have it installed on CM6.1 0.30 using Froyos built in Apps2SD.
Guest KenBW2 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Also in the disappearing after splash screen boat. Any indication of how some can have it working? CM6.1 0.30, Inbult Froyo A2SD Spanner: Are you talking about Opera Mobile or Opera Mini?
Guest spanner44 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 Sorry Ken, my mistake, I am on about Opera Mini, didn't know there was a different one - Thought Mobile meant Mini. Don't know why but when I have put my CM6 on, it didn't come with Opera, mobile or mini, I just downloaded it from the market, this is probably why i got mixed up, mind you, I only put my CM6 on the other day, so shouldn't it have it on it ?

Guest pk0102 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Rom? CM6 0.3 using the dtt a2sd
Guest igor_anta Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 CM6 0.3 using the dtt a2sd I think the inbuilt Froyo apps2sd is the problem here. The app is too big to have on internal memory and buggy on external, guess for this reason and a few others I'm moving to Darktremor again  Cheers!
Guest igor_anta Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 I can confirm that it works with DT apps2sd. Awesome job by Tom G for enabling the default Froyo apps2sd but it seems that's not the better option for the Pulse. Cheers!
Guest pk0102 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 I am using CM6 0.3 with dt a2sd. I found that the opera mobile use more battery power than opera mini.
Guest thehobnob Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 For the record, I'm running it on CM6 0.3 via Froyo's A2SD and it works fine, not sluggish at all. I'm not even running the OC'd kernel. Perhaps its the SD card at fault?

Not sure A2SD is related to problem. Had same problem with firefox/fennec which was even bigger file. I have cache on internal not SD, how about those people that got it working?
Guest thisweb Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Personally I find Galapagos the best browser, its fast, and has tonnes of features, small memory footprint, very customisable menu, its intuitive, and makes best use of real estate, tabs are not to big not to small and compress onto one screen, long click open tab in background (every browser should have this). Actually I have no complaints with it whatsoever. Used to love xscope but now despise the new version as it took out all the good bits. Dolphin is ugly and tabs are super huge (why?? on a small screen, why why why?!). uc browser is worth a look too.
