i was just wondering , if there is any short cut to go to home screen without having to use the keys.

get out of the app without using keys.

Not entirely sure what you are asking. Overkill for just this but Tasker could do something along these lines. Have a gesture (waggle your phone in a certain way) to take you back to the home screen.

Way way over the top for just that but Tasker is so much more. Since I've started to get it set up the way I want I never switch anything on my phone anymore, its silent at work, loud elsewhere, replaced juice defender and a handful of other apps and lets me find my phone if I lose it, and several other things I forget right now, quite geeky but very cool
