Guest fryguyse Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 (edited) I had a HTC Magic before i got my Blade. I ran the official Android 2.1 for Canada on my Magic. Switching between "screens" on the Blade is very slow as default, but after i installed LauncherPro it's ok. I guess it might be even better with a custom ROM. I'm running the original with the orangecrap removed. The display on the Blade is way better than the Magics display though, and 3d games runs a lot faster on the Blade. Guest `Anderson Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 One more question ? is the GPS usable ? and will it use up any data usage ?
Guest Armadillo1 Posted November 9, 2010 Report Posted November 9, 2010 I sold my Magic - got £87 + £3 quidco and paid about the same for the Blade. I ran Cyanogenmod 6 (2.2) on Magic and the Blade is quite a bit faster IMO. And the fact that it has an actual headphone jack is great. The Magic was better build quality though.
Guest cobalt01 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) The gps is alright on mine picks up fast outside but sometimes doesn't inside (satnavs are the same) as for data you can set it to just gps instead off agps. This will make it so just gps is being used and not your network as well. If you run Pauls custom rom with launcher pro it's not to bad a few lags but newt bad Edited November 10, 2010 by cobalt01

Guest `Anderson Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 What is the cheapest way to get it ? is it from phoing up the Orange Sales team ? and what is the No. ? I heard that you can phone them on skype for free And is it a £30 pound discount so it comes to £70 ? and do i have to pay £10 for top up as well ? So in total how much do i have to pay ? I can borrow my mates Orange PAYG sim card. thx Anderson
Guest cobalt01 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Have a look here see if that works for you. I payed full for mine but if you know someone on a orange sim only deal for example you might get away with the £10 topup due to it wont work because your on a contract
Guest `Anderson Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Does the SF uses the AMOLED or the OLED ?? and what is the difference from the TFF AND the AMOLED ?? i've heard that the white one coming out is gonna use the TFF ?? if so which is better to get ?
Guest Rem1x Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 In my opinion the OLED is MUCH better. Whites are white, Blacks are Black, all is well
Guest `Anderson Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 In my opinion the OLED is MUCH better. Whites are white, Blacks are Black, all is well  m... werid people are saying that the White are coming with the TFF screen
Guest rayraven Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 There's not really a huge difference between OLED & AMOLED. It's just a different way the pixels are controlled AFAIK.
Guest `Anderson Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 There's not really a huge difference between OLED & AMOLED. It's just a different way the pixels are controlled AFAIK. so which one does the SF use ?
Guest rayraven Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 (edited) Not sure, i think it's AMOLED with a Pen-Tile matrix layout. EDIT: Looks like PMOLED is only upto 3inches typically. So, i guess the screen is probably AMOLED. For more information: http://www.articlesbase.com/gadgets-and-gi...led-733482.html In my opinion the OLED is MUCH better. Whites are white, Blacks are Black, all is well  And no backlight means better battery life. Edited November 11, 2010 by rayraven
Guest `Anderson Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 still don't know what is the cheapest way to buy it ! is it £70 if you are a orange customer ? and do you have to top up £10 as well ?
