Has anyone tried Brut Google Maps?

I was reading another thread and saw Brut Google Maps being mentioned.

It is an offline Google Maps.

Has anyone tried it? If they have any tips on getting it to / best method of installing?

Hello!

Yes I'm using it, and it works very well. You have the choice of having the app save the maps you are using so it only download them ones. Or you can download them off line and put them on your sd card. There are two ways you can install it.

1. download the rom and open the .zip file, find the maps.apk and remove it. Download the first version from the brut.all maps site and rename it to maps.apk and put it in the directory where you removed the original file.

2. not tested but should work: ./adb uninstall maps.apk, then put the new brut.all version on your sd card and install it from your favourite file manager.
