Just downloaded the 'Opera Mobile' App from the Market have to say it works a charm on the SF (Another reason to love this phone)..

I find it much better than the Dolphin HD browser if you have not tried it give it a whirl

It eats waay to much RAM. after using it for 15 mins it was using about 100 megs!, with just 2 tabs open?

I suppose the memory leaks will be fixed in later betas.

Is there a way to zzom in using just one hand? Pain in the tush when out shopping today, carrying loads of bags and checking something online is a no go unless you're using the default browser.

I've not tried it myself just yet but I understand that Opera Mobile supports pinch zoom?

That's right, pinch, or double tap.

Actually vs mini it seems slower. Parts of the pages are cut off with white boxes

As for turbo mode.. Eh? What did they do?!! It was perfect before

Everyone seems to love pinch to zoom but I hate it for this exact reason..you can't use it one handed!

The pinch and zoom in Opera Mobile is the smoothest I've seen on my blade so far. Still not as smooth as the iphone, but maybe it'll get even better with Froyo or a final release.

I have to agree. The Pinch to zoom and general "gliding" around a page are the smoothest I have seen (about on paar with my iPod touch)! And a lot smoother than the stock browser (MCR R3) or Opera Mini. Pages seem to load as quick as mini and alot faster than stock.

This has now become my default browser, unistalling mini altogether.

you should both use Xscope its quick and has single finger zoom! you double tap then slide your finger to how far to zoom works well!

Opera Mobile took up about 30mb on my phone. Opera Mini takes 3mb. The only difference I found was Mobile had many more zoom levels but it also started too far zoomed out on Google.

Opera Mobile is a based on a completely new rendering engine!(for Android, any way) Instead of using the built in Webkit, like most other browsers, this uses Presto. And that explains the size(and speed) of it.

Sounds interesting, gonna give this a shot.

Opera + trans proxy got me on stage closer to actually connecting to my college wifi today

Asked me for username and password before displaying the proxy error page

+1 for Opera

Wow, sounds like I'll be enjoying my browser of choice on yet another platform

AFAIR a major update for Opera Mini is expected as well. Both Operas are also said to get hardware acceleration soon.

Thanks for the tip, trying it out.

What's it like for battery life etc?

battery life is so so. but that's with any browser.

white background screens, as the are used whilst browsing suck the life out of oled screens batterywise.

Thanks for the tip, trying it out.

Thanks greenwiggler, I had a paly with it for a few minutes and it drained the battery superfast, also I noticed it generated a fair bit of heat, si this common with cpu intense apps on the blade?
