Facebook Sync

OK so I got tired of the space issues on my Desire and I flashed it with a baked ROM that essentially had only the basics needed to get me by and apps2sd.

Its worked brilliantly and the phone is a lot faster, even with all my applications installed there is still 70MB internal storage free so I'm very happy with the ROM.

My problem is that I cannot set up Facebook Sync. I baked the ROM without Facebook in, I've then installed it from the Market so that it gets installed to the SD card.

What happens is, when I press the Facebook option in accounts and sync and nothing happens. Its probably due to the above but is there anything I can do about it?

I think you need the facebook for htc sense apk. As the one on the market is totally different and i don't think sync works with it. Try rebaking with facebook in.

I did the same thing (also wanted a light rom).

I can confirm that facebook sync requaires the Facebook for htc sense app.

That anit the app thats in the android market.

If you don't want to baek again you can extract this app from an old rom (if you have one laying around),

Just look for "facebook.apk" and install it on your phone.

I rebaked with Facebook in the ROM and it worked OK although I will probably rebake with it out again and backup the facebook.apk.
