Guest madjocksco Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) found this , meant for iphone, but i used settngs and im now on 3g+. thanks Pay & Go To change your data settings: From the main screen of your iPhone, tap Settings > General > Network Tap ‘Cellular Data Network’. Under ‘Cellular Data’, tap APN and change ‘idata.o2.co.uk’ to ‘payandgo.o2.co.uk’ (‘o2’ needs to be written with a letter ‘o’, not a zero). You don’t need to change your username and password. Ignore the APN box under ‘Visual Voicemail’ – it’s not available on Pay & Go. Under MMS, tap APN and change ‘idata.o2.co.uk’ to ‘payandgo.o2.co.uk’ (‘o2’ needs to be written with a letter ‘o’, not a zero). You don’t need to change your username and password. Turn your iPhone off and on again. Edited November 10, 2010 by madjocksco
Guest cobalt01 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) Data connection failed comes up alot with o2. I had this problem with it when i was testing there sim out. The way i sorted it is by putting the sim in, running the phone, applying the apn settings, ticking allow data roaming and connection. It will come up failed. Now you will have to go back into the main settings menu, go to privacy and select Factory data reset. This will wipe your phone (not sd card) so back everything you need up like pictures contacts etc. Now your phone will restart and datd connection should hopefully be running. I have also had this problem where my O2 sim works to make calls but I cannot get 2G or 3G data connection. I have put the APNs into the phone exactly the same as my last android device on o2 and it just won't work. I tried your suggestion of wiping and restarting but to no avail. Doing a bit of a search around it seems like the people with this issue are o2 sim users. Anyone with any ideas? Stephent3

Doing a bit of a search around it seems like the people with this issue are o2 sim users. Anyone with any ideas? Stephent3 I've worked this one out. 'Reset to Default' on the APNs screen to delete any APNs you have entered, then follow the manual APN set up for MMS and Mobile Web for the desire found here: http://mobileguide.o2.co.uk/devices/device...d=651&tab=8 This should work straight away. It seems to be that if you enter in the APN details and then just press back to go out of it, even though it shows the APNs in your list and has the details behind them it doesn't save them, you have to press menu when you have completed the details and press save. If you save after you press back then it doesn't work. Or maybe its just because I put APN type as MMS and Internet first time round and left them blank the second time round. The APNs in my list now show to grey buttons so you can swap between the two. Happy Browsing. Stephent3
