Methods of removing a stuck pixel

I have a stuck pixel on my SF, It's in the just right of center, about a third of the way up the screen.

It's bright pink and quite annoying when against a white background (which is most of the time when browsing the net!). I've heard of ways of getting rid of stuck pixels, sometimes with software, or my using other methods such as applying pressure to the screen.

Does anyone have any recommendations of things I can try to remove it. Otherwise, I will have to live with it! :-(

Thanks!

You could create you own colour images of a solid colour? for example go into MSpaint and make a image entirely red, and another blue, green, yellow etc. Copy them all onto your phone and scroll through them with the gallery, As thats what most stuck pixel programs seem to do. Just flash up solid colours in an attempt to dislodge the pixel

Search the Market for an app called "Another Strobe Light - Free" when you start the strobe press menu and chose the following: RGB, GRID, 10 x 10.

I've read somewhere that you'll need to let it run for up to an hour or so. Hope it helps!

What's the app supposed to do running for an hour?

As far as I know, there are two types of pixel errors, always lit and always unlit. Unlit ones are simply dead (black pixels) and there is nothing you can do about it. Always lit depends on which one of the subpixels isn't working (you know, one of the RGB components), it will always be visible in its corresponding color (red, green, blue).

Now on Windows there are programs that can manipulate the other, working subpixles of said defect pixel to make the error less obvious. The error itself doesn't go away, it's just less visible to human perception.

You would need to manually select the defect pixels and play around with the color settings.

That was for TFT screens and some time ago though, so things might have changed since LEDs came along the way. Although I assume they still work on the same principle.

just go on to youtube and type in dead or stuck pixel repair video. in addition to this, massage the dead pixel carefully with a soft cloth.

if the pixel is black it's dead and there is no chance of repairing it. if it still has colour then it's "just" stuck. white ones are tricky, but red and green sometimes go away with either of the two afore-mentioned techniques.

Actually thinking about it you can't unstick a AMOLED pixel..

(LCD uses coloured shutters over a white light, these get stuck)

AMOLED uses different coloured pixels
