Guest seefy Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Hi I'm trying to root my SF but running into a few issues, possibly due to drivers??! Normally when I just plug in the SF I have in device manager Android Phone: Android Composite interface. At the point of restarting SF with volume up pressed I have in device manager I have under ADB interface : Android Sooner Single ADB interface. (this replaces the above entry) Is this to be expected? When I type in the fastboot-windows devices command I get the following: ? fastboot I'm guessing this means it cant see the SF ? I used the drivers from fissleban..or something  it is the zte_driver package and under that is the XP version. I have also tried the usb_package. Any advice on where I'm going wrong pls? Many thanks in advance seef
Guest cobalt01 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) Could always start up phone in debug mode and then go to your AndroidSDK folder, then tools and right click fastboot, select run as admin (vista, win 7) and then try opening a command prompt and follow http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...boot-root-mcri/ or a much easier way would be go to the Market, search for a app installer, download one, then get Universal Androot and copy it to your sd card. Now run your app installer and install Uinversal Androot. Go to the main menu click on Universal Androot and Select "Superuser Android 2.0-2.2" or "Do no install superuser" and click on root. After about 30 seconds your phone should be rooted. Edited November 10, 2010 by cobalt01
Guest seefy Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 cool thanks, that worked. But I still have to get the fastboot stuff working to get the custom roms on, so will look at getting these drivers sorted out. At the moment in device management I have under ADB interface : ZTE Composite ADB Interface. The problem is that I still cant seem to get the device recognised, so fastboot doesn't see anything  all good fun
Guest cobalt01 Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) Have you tried installing Android USB drivers from the AndroidSDK? If not try these otherwise restart in debugging mode (Vol up + power). Now install the drivers with the ones you get from here which you already have. Select the inf file yourself by going to have disk part, after cancelling search from windows update etc. Now right click on the fastboot command in AndroidSDK an run as admin, open a new command prompt has admin and follow this you wont need to get the fastboot file or restart the phone just the image itself will be needed and start at step 7. Hopefully this will work. Don't forget the image will need to be in the same folder has fastboot if i can remember correctly. Edited November 10, 2010 by cobalt01
