Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Hi and welcome to the site :) First of all what is the actual problem you are having with Outlook 2000? is the email set up? There is nothing you should be erasing from your phone at this point and what you can and can't do with the phone is now so vast I could not give you all the details here. The best bet is to have a good look around this forum and if you find something of interest just ask. To start you off though I have two recomendations First get yourself a decent sized SD memmory card 64Mb min 128Mb ideal Second install All-explorer (demo on the 8Mb SD card that came with the phone) this app is a must have, but you will need to buy the full version after 30 days. The main point is..... Have fun. ;) Ashley
Guest johnjock9 Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 thanks warner, but i have already deleted al the mapi folder and all folders that r empty......is there any harm in that?....... :?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Do you mean that you HAVE deleted all the folders that you thought were empty? Are you using Activsync or All-explorer to view the folders? Active sync will NOT see all of the files in the folders. If you start to have problems you will probably need to do a hard reset to get the phone back to how it should be. The files that are in the mapi folder are ok to delete so you will be ok for those only.
Guest Bazz Posted February 8, 2003 Report Posted February 8, 2003 Why are you going around deleting files? Most are there for a reason. If you've got a specific problem then ask, but it's probably not a good idea just to start deleting files. The good thing with the phone is that you can do a procedure known as a "hard reset". This basically resets the phone to the exact same position it was in when you bought it. This can be used to restore any files you accidently deleted. Anyway let us known exactly what the problem is and we'll probably be able to help.
