Hardware acceleration on stock rom

Hi guys,

first of all, I guess this is a real noob question, but I couldn't find anything using the search engine.

My problem is I cannot flash my san francisco because the usual way seems not to work for me although I've spend hours finding where the mistake is, so after that I tried flashing with jutley's way but there I had the problem with a FTM screen appearing while trying to get the phone in recovery mode.

So all after all I have kind of given up installing a custom rom and helped myseld uninstalling the orange junk so that the phone runs really faster.

So my question is if it's possible to enable hardware acceleration on the stock rom and if this is the case how can I do it, because it's a bit annoying that angry birds is still not so smooth.

I would really be happy if someone can help me.

you were getting FTM because you haven't flashed the clockwork recovery,
