Guest kibcom Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 I just hope they stick with the 5" display... I just can't go smaller after using my Streak. I agree. In fact this is the comment from that article...... "After all, most everyone that I know who has used a Streak have complained (in some way) about the display size. Most say that the display is either small for a tablet or large for a phone." Am I the only one who thinks the Streak's screen size is absolutely spot on? Any smaller and it's a nasty mobile phone. Any larger and i may as well buy an iPad.

Its a near perfect compromise between size and portability, perfection would be as it is now with the screen expanding into the bezel fully
Guest vinokirk Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Yeah this guy goes on about to big for a phone and too small for a tablet. IMHO its the PERFECT size for a phone
Guest brokenpixel Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 I agree with both, sometimes it feels too big, sometimes I wish it was bigger but MOST of the time (98.87%) it's more than perfect. I'm up for the Half-HD screen res, that is the only thing I would change on the actual streak. and a notification LED.
Guest Cue_32 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Yeah this guy goes on about to big for a phone and too small for a tablet. IMHO its the PERFECT size for a phone  To be honest... they could really chop down the overall size of the phone by a good half an inch here and there. ie. the area where the speakers and the menu buttons are, it can be cut to at least half its size. And perhaps it might attract more buyers than intimidate them. Lately, have you guys seen anyone put your Streak up to their ear as a phone? My wife did recently and I got reminded of just how big our phones really are. LoL

Guest vinokirk Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 people at work keep saying to me. 'Phones are going in reverse to how they used to be in eighties+ early ninties...large' i keep explaining its because people are now viewing media, vidoe, internet on their devices and the tiny devices of the early 2000's are just too small now
Guest Dogmann55 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Hi all Well i also think the screen size is perfect for my needs and with it only being 5" i see no need for the increase in resolution either i have no issues with the quality the screen delivers on anything i use it for i also do not believe the that next gen 1.2Ghz Dual core processor is really going to offer that much of a performance hike over what we are seeing now with the current processor. I've heard no reports that the Desire HD is any better then our Streaks in anything it does. Personally until something is released that really shows a big step up from my Streak i have no intention of upgrading where as i once used to change my device every 6 months that has changed to once a year now and with the Streak feel it may be even longer. Guest rebski Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Jenn has a good take on the rumour http://www.streaksmart.com/2010/11/rumor-d...l-core-cpu.html I can't wait. Yeah this guy goes on about to big for a phone and too small for a tablet. I am truly fed up with these pundits and their crap opinions. So glad that Dell pays them no heed either.
Guest gilrad Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 More important than the hardware, I am hoping that by the time the next Streak is out Dell has its Nexus-style distribution system down pat. There will always be awesome hardware coming out, but its not everyday a hardware manufacturer tries to give the carriers the finger.
Guest mike_ekim Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 The best thing about a higher-rez zstreak with a 2-core cpu is it will make regular streaks less expensive.
Guest Wonsanim Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 Yeah this guy goes on about to big for a phone and too small for a tablet. IMHO its the PERFECT size for a phone  For me also the Streak is simply perfect  I have also a Captivate an almost never use
Guest untrueparadox Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 honestly, i'd probably ask for samsung or htc to build it instead. as amazing as the dell (qisda) hardware design is, the software implementation is just trash. they dont have the experience nor scalability. htc can port 2.1 to 2.2 with sense included in about half a year, dell's still hasnt ported that full fledged 1.6 build demoed last october to 2.1, and theyre struggling to move on to 2.2 half a year after froyo is released. in other words, HTC PLEASE MAKE A 5" PHONE!!

This is Dell's first venture into a phone. I have been lurking in #dellstreak often enough to know that Dell appears interested in what the community is doing, and wants to be more involved in the "open source" model. Most large companies seem to take some time to "get it." I get the sense that the 1.6 release was rushed, but that the 2.2 won't be. We'll wait and see. If 2.2 is trash, I may agree with you.
