Can anyone help please - I was searching for something in Root Explorer but the search function got stuck at folder /system/xbin/bb/bb and just kept adding more and more '/bb's at the end of the path. When I navigate into that folder the loop really is there i.e. I seem to be able to keep opening /bb "sub-mirrors" of itself forever. Surely this is not normal, anyone with similar experience or an idea what might be wrong?

symlink /system/xbin SYSTEM:xbin/bb

As you can see, /system/xbin/bb is linked to /system/xbin

I don't know why that symlink is necessary, but you should be able to delete it with these commands in terminal:

su

rm /system/xbin/bb

I'd be careful with deleting symlinks in vital folders.

Is he knows how to manually add it again and wants to test out if abything breaks, be my guest. Just don't happily start deleting things.

so i take it the folder 'loop' itself is a standard thing not a bug, but there is an issue with the search function of root explorer getting stuck in that loop? can live with that i suppose. thanks for the replies everyone.

Just one usecase, OpenVPN works only if the /system/xbin/bb exists and linked to the parent directory.
