Nothing wrong to hope

It is understood that a Blade with 2.2 for China is imminent.

And a Japanese website is touting a 2.2 Blade (with 5mp camera) for mid-December availability.

While there were reports that Blade versions with 2.2 would be sold in Europe, it sounds like its just 2.1 that's in prospect for the countries where it is believed that the Blade will be offered.

My guess would be that this might have something to do with approvals testing - the cost and equally importantly the time involved.

"Yes Mr Telco-Customer, here at ZTE we can offer you Blades immediately with 2.1 (well, just as soon as we can make them) -- but if you want 2.2 for your customers you are going to have to wait while we get EU approval, and of course with extra costs for us, the price for you will have to go up a bit ... "

Later delivery and higher price? How do you expect any Corporate Purchasing Dept to react to that?

Just now I came to know that its ZTE branded handsets.

In India, there is hardly any practice of contract and subsidy from operator. Its just available on Blackberry, iPhone and few selected hi-end smart phones.

Dell XCD series will grab serious attention, with respect to price range, which is affordable for mid-range customers, who are Android enthusiast.

According to news, Dell is offering replacement warranty of one year on both the handsets. XCD 28 will be launched in Nov-Dec 2010, XCD 35 will be launched in first Quarter of 2011.

The japanese Blade, called Libero SoftBank (003Z) will have a native froyo.

Release date is "mid-December"... Still nothing.
