Guest Bruce Taylor Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 I wanted to try MIUI on my desire (An AMOLED model, with S-Off bootloader) but before doing this, I obviously used clockwordmod (2.5.0.7 running off of my SD Card) to make a nandroid backup of my ROM, rooted stock Froyo. I tried MIUI, but didn't like it, so I booted into clockwordmod and restored my backup. No errors were given (Or during the backup) and when I rebooted, the HTC splash screen came up, and then, a black screen. No buttons lighting up, no response at all. I had to pull the battery. But my desire wasn't bricked. I still had picture on my screen during the splash screen and bootloader/recovery/clockworkmod. I wiped everything and tried again, but still no luck. I then reinstalled MIUI, which I'm currently running. But I really want to get my old ROM back, as well as my data. Any idea what I can do to get my backup to restore properly? Any help is appreciated!
Guest volatile_ink Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 (edited) I never use Nandroid Backup/Restore from the recovery screen. I use ADB to run the nandroid-mobile.sh script, far more powerful and flexible. Try using ADB to perform the nandroid restore and use this command: 'nandroid-mobile.sh --restore --ext' Perhaps the back-up is corrupt, if thats the case just bite the bullet and go for a clean re-install.
