As some may know, iDroid is a port of Android 2.2 Froyo to the iPhone 2G/3G devices (Not for , 4 or Pad yet as H/W is different)

Does anyone know if there's an opposite project to run iOS on Android devices? Or does the Hardware made for Software / Software made for Hardware rules apply to iOS devices. I understand that both the iOS AND iDevices are designed hand in hand, FOR each other, but again i'm still wondering if any of the Great Minds of the Android Coding World had attempted such a task.

I also realize that the coding language is different before that is pointed out, which makes me ask, is iDroid basically just an App in Droid clothing??

Reason I ask, A friend turned up with iDroid running on his old 3G, not a bad looking setup, which in turn makes me curious to whether or not iOS can actually run on an Android handset/tablet.

I didn't have time to fiddle with his iDroid F/W but it looks really functional

It's something i'd like to see on my Streak

Any comments anyone??

Tim

Why on earth would someone will go through all the trouble to port an OS that is as closed as they get! There is little to no info about the OS or the drivers! It will be a really hard work!

Good Lord Tim, why on Earth would you want to do defile the Streak in such a way? I suggest you go and take a cold shower and get these sordid thoughts out your head!

I think the idea of a full OS on the phone might be a bit OTT.

However, although i haven't looked to see if there is anything available at the moment, a virtual-like mahcine to run applications intended for an iphone would be damn handy!

Don't be so hard on the guy.

If we could get a VM to run the apps and games, that would be awesome.

The only real thing I miss from my old iphone, is the keyboard was flawless. I constantly mistype on this thing, even though the keyboard is so huge.

I am overall thrilled with the android experience since my switch to steves 2.2.

yeah i second that. no matter how biased we are towards android, i can't deny iphone's keyboard is the best. i sold my iphone 3gs for nexus one in early January and since then I've been a loyal androids, changing from one phone to another phone..

until recently, that i got myself an iPhone 4 as my 2nd device. to my surprise my finger straight away feel at home on it's keyboard. it's so easy and i rarely mistype words..

but... i am more interested if someone can port the new HTC sense to our awesome Streak

<dont flame me>

Personally, I hate the iOS for its closed software and the horrible layout of its apps. I like a nice clean sheet when I unlock my phone, with just the time and perhaps what I am listening to, rather than just a wall of apps.

I also dislike the HTC Sense launcher compared to Launcher.pro and adw.Launcher. Whenever I know someone who gets a new HTC I always show them both the launchers and most of the time they are much happier using something other than Sense.

I hate everything Steve Jobs makes, sells, stands for and likes.

I hate the way he looks, the way he talks and the way he stands and walks.

I hate the way he smiles and the way he smirks, I've owned his crap before because my buddies told me it was great: won't be listening to them again.

That said an emulator would be useful as most businesses haven't quite figured out that the iOS only has half the installed base of Android and thus keep writing their banking, shopping and information apps only for the iPhoney.

Most of the iPhoney's software is pure rubbish, but the 8 or 9 that I would use and/or that would make my life easier are only written for that POS.

ios on my streak ? no way !!!

There's no 800x480 iOS device, you're talking before you're thinking, this isn't the first time somebody's talked about this, if you don't plan to make headway, don't open your mouth hoping your regurgitated idea will magically enlighten someone.
