Guest Tezar Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 Does anybody know where to find an assembly/disassembly manual for LG GT540 Optimus or for another phone that has a similar constructions? My phone has a weird problem - the screen is making clicking/popping sounds if I press in the region of the two soft buttons (anywhere between the hard buttons and the lower part of the screen) and than release + it is difficult to press the soft buttons (I have to press rather hard). It feels like the screen is not aligned properly in that region and there is some space between the outside plastic and the touch sensors (I presume that the noise is due to plastic returning to its original shape after being pressed). Would greatly appreciate any recommendations on how to resolve the issue! I already tried opening it, but I was not entirely sure on how to proceed after removing the screws... To make matters worse, there is no LG service centre in my area.

Guest Clarkey15 Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 I've written a few phone disassembly guides over the past few years, I'll see if I can dig out my screwdrivers in the week and make up another guide.
Guest JamesChen Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) Find out the service manual by google with searching "GT540 Service Manual", then you will get some useful data. The attachment is for your reference. Regards, James Edited November 13, 2010 by JamesChen

Guest Tezar Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 Thanks guys for the feedback - I did not know that the problem was such a common issue. Guess I will just have to ignore it for the time being (since it is not an anomaly, it will be very difficult/impossible to repair)
