Picture messaging - Is MMS working for you?

I'm on giffgaff and I'm having trouble receiving messages... not all the time, but for every one that I get, five won't download.

Is anyone here having success with their MMS, if so which network are you on?

Broc have you got 2 APN's?

Use the app on marketplace called giffgaffapn - allowed me to delete the o2 apn's and inserted the 2 apn's the Blade needs.

I' have tried a few things... manually writing the APNs and I've also used two version (v1.1 and v1.2) of the giffgaff.apk but still no luck. I have sent and received the occasional one but it's at 10% success rate.

This doesn't help with a solution, but having same problem, can't reveive MMS, send is OK.

Get msg with download button but nothing comes through.

Have tried giffgaff apn apk and still no luck.

Not sure if this will help anyone here since I'm on T-Mo US, but I had an issue where I could receive MMS, but not send them. It took me six hours, but I figured it out. I tried so many things I can't even remember. Deleted all, add three at once, modified things. The end result was still no sending of MMS. My last try I reset everything back to default, and I was checking all fields, and noticed the "MMSC" field said "null". Well from looking over so many different configurations I noticed almost all of them showed the MMSC had "mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc", so out of desperation I changed "null" to that, and BOOM, it worked. I now have all things working like they should. Maybe that field could be used for your network? I'm using the default messaging app by the way on the Desire HD. If this has nothing to do with what you're talking about then sorry. :-)

EDIT- Oh, and I'm talking about modifying the default APN. Sorry if that wasn't obvious.

Me too, I'd like to know if this is specific to giffgaff, in which case I can change network or whether it's the phone. It's enough to make me want to change the phone tbh. Giffgaff offer no help.

I presume you're not the first to have had an issue setting up MMS on Giffgaff, I'm sure I've read a few threads where this was resolved - try doing a search on this forum Broc.

It's not the phone, I put an orange sim in and could receive fine, believe it's a prob with O2 not recognising the phone!!

Mate, i have been trying to solve this for weeks.

There's so many different fixes, apn's with conflicting ports 8080/9090. Apps that don't work. APK's on here that i don't know if i should root to use.

Pulling my hair out. It's a nightmare.

Your the first person i have found in the same position as me.

I am on giffgaff. If i receive a mms, i click download, the G symbol pops up at the top. But then goes away and nothing happens.

Even when they used to download, they would be tiny and i couldn't seem them.

Has anyone got this working on giffgaff?

davnig & mal, I'm glad I'm not the only one not having this problem but it would be nice if we could get this fixed. Misery loves company but what it really wants is a phone that works.

I've posted several times on giffgaff but they don't seem interested except for the chap who wrote the APN for download but even that doesn't work.

Some threads give advice to use 8080, other 9090. Use one apn, use two, use a proxy, don't use a proxy, it's a load of crap.

I want to give up on giffgaff but where else is offering similar deals month by month? I'm happy to pay a little more for a service that works but I would rather get this one working really rather than a load of hassle all over again.
