My first handset had poor wifi range, second had a very pink screen and now my third also has a pink screen, but not as severe as the previous one. Comparing it to my friends san francisco, his is more of a true colour and possibly appears very slightly blue/green compared to mine (comparing the notifications bar), and mine appears more saturated (reds look more brown, dark grey looks purple).

Do most have bad screen colour? Am I just unlucky? Is anyone else's on the red/pink side?

It's difficult to capture but take a look at these photos

Which one is the pink one! I can't really tell the difference, what camera did you use for the pics? another SF?

I've seen a few next to each other. My kids have one each as well. One day one of them looked more pink than the others, the next day it seemed ok and one of the others seemed more pink! I think it's just to do with the warming up of the LED and screen....

EDIT: the right one has a more red / pink sea shore...could be due to the settings...

The right side one is the pink one, it's hard to capture with my camera but it looks worse in daylight/in person.

Shore is much more saturated.

The background appears purple on the right phone.

For reference, this is the other faulty one that I returned.

Old/returned phone with pink screen

What settings are there to control the screen colour?

Try to max the screen brightness. The lower it is the pinker the screen gets.

Best regards,

How scratch resistant is the screen? Does it have any scratch resistant properties? Is it glass or plastic coated?

I've had the SF for nearly a month with and without screen protector and haven't got a single scratch or anything on the screen. I've been very carefull though. My last screen protector peeled off when I put it in my jean pocket and I've been using it without since...

The case is delicate, some of the rubber finish on the back panel has rubbed off...

Try to max the screen brightness.....

You'll eat through your battery quickly like that...

When I compared my phone to my dads I noticed this exact same problem!

If I have them both on Google's homepage (aka mostly white) you can see mine is significantly pinker.

(Both screens set to exact same brightness)

If he hadn't got his phone I would never have realised (Same applies to the dodgy wifi) so this will be my second replacement.

I called Orange and they are sending out a replacement (in theory...)

I also have a dodgy motor for the vibration in this phone, it is more crunchy than smooth vibration.

Thanks for the link, still confused as to whether it's a browser or hardware issue. Assume it's hardware because a side-by-side comparison shows mine to be pinker. If people want to test this you can also hold it against your computer monitor. Mine is noticeably different.

Obviously there are some phones with a "pinker" screen so I hope someone can include a screen colour calibration tool in the rom, just like the cyanogenmod, thx! (and overclocking please!)

Me and my kids have three SFs, and we've had another four we bought for friends abroad.

Two were perfectly normal grey, one was somewhere in between grey and pink, and the other four were very pink!! Didn't bother our friends though, they're very happy with their SF's

You only notice the difference when you put then side by side... the pink ones look grey enough when you've got them in your hands...
