Guest yjm13 Posted November 12, 2010 Report Posted November 12, 2010 I am a noob at this! I am not afraid to brick my device though, I am using it as a tablet until I get the 2.2 in it. So I decided to put it in! Im tired of my Iphone and hate it! I rooted the device with superuser permissions. I downloaded all the update stuff, but I am missing on how to use the command prompt? I am so lost! I followed all the instructions the device did exactly what it said it would do! I did the fastboot and recovery flash. But I was never asked to type a command prompt it re booted on its own. Do i need to go into the cd prmpt and do something while its in fastboot mode?? Side note now my home buttons all flash like Im at a disco! Can someone please break this down for me? I was in the update.zip pkg too and did not find the zip file i loaded on the sd card! thank you for any help or jokes on how dumb I am!
Guest Cue_32 Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 (edited) First things first.. official Froyo is almost out. So you know. So to assist.... Make sure you got SDK/ ADB going. Plug your device to pc. Open the comma d prompt and change directory to the folder where faztboot and adb.exe is located. Then type 'adb devices'. Enter. Cmd prompt should show your serial number. Then... depending on what version your coming from, you can't just go straight to 1.2. So you need to tell us what version you're coming from. Also your flashing disco lightis because you have a mismatching baseband and ROM. Edited November 13, 2010 by Cue_32
