Hi, does anyone know if/when android 2.1 will be out for the GT540 on O2 UK? keep checking but still saying I have the latest version. Don't really want to do it the unofficial way would rather do it the official way.

Thanks very much in advance.

Even if the update will come out, threres 70% chance u eill be doing with kdz updater, not lgsupport tool.

My GT540 is on Tesco Mobile (O2) I have used the European open version and it works perfectly with the O2 network using the Tesco apn. I have rooted mine, installed Titanium backup and uninstalled a large amount of unwanted apps and the phone is working superbly. I've got 15apps installed and I still have 51mb free.

I have used the KDZ updater a few times now and it works well and is very easy to use. I wouldn;t bother waiting for the Official O2 rom as the european open version is excellent and is the most recent build as well.

Hi, I decided to update with an O2 one that I found on this site using the KDZ updater but it failed and I could only get as far as the LG logo but reading on here I managed to install the European open version but I kept getting pop ups every 2 secs to force close but I read on here to do a factory reset and that seems to have solved it. But now when I turn the phone off and the back on again, its just a black screen no LG logo or anything and I have to wait for the back light to turn off and then press the off button to get the home screen to come up. Does yours do the same? if not do you know of a way to fix it?

Thanks

My GT540 boots with LG white logo, then animated LG logo and then Android animation. I would do a hard reset and then flash the phone again using KDZ.

Then root, install titanium and then delete a bucket load of unwanted apps.

Thanks for the quick reply, just done that and its still doing the same thing. Also sims 3 isn't working. Just to double check is a hard reset the same as a factory reset?

You need the data files to get the Sims 3 working. Someone posted them on this site somewhere but I can't remember where, sorry. Maybe in the official updates thread? If you do a search, I'm sure you'll find them.
