Guest android in Colc Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 On the 26th Oct I installed HTCSync on my Windows XP SP3 machine as due to a house move I would need to use tethering. I installed it to run on startup and in my system tray. When my broadband came back I found that my daily upload and download was an equal amount, and going to take me over my monthly allowance. After about 4 hours of fiddling and digging I found the solution and this was to uninstall htcsync. So a warning - install NetMeter if you are worried that this may be happening to you - it will show it immediately. I have not started rolling back - ie. install htcsync not on start up; install not in system tray [it causes Explorer to issue the bandwidth problem] and so on. If anyone has found a bandwidth [mostly] neutral solution I would be most grateful to hear. Thanks. Ultra newbie
