Guest Bob Mann Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 hi all, just got a pulse mini yesterday, its my first ever android phone and whilst im not usually confused by technology (im an it engineer by trade) this has me flummoxed for one i absolutely hate the keyboard... why have qwerty on something so small? anyway i go to try and change the settings to use a 12 key keypad (like a standard nokia for example) but does it work? no... also the bloody word prediction, i type you, it auto chooses your, to - top, and so many other words, i dont need to be told what word to use on the iphone, blackberry and this phone is no different.... So... my question, can i actually remove this god awful feature... in settings -> locale and keyboard -> touchpal -> word prediction is off and layout in portrait is set to 12 key phone pad, but still no dice now i vaguely remember changing the keyboard to andoird.... but i cant remember where or how i did it  so if anyone can help please let me know. ive looked at the droid guide but i cant seem to find much about keyboards. cheers in advance Bob
Guest AndroidKiller Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 downlaod better keyboard you will love it. Its so worth it .
Guest Danh2122 Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 now i vaguely remember changing the keyboard to andoird.... but i cant remember where or how i did it  Bob You change the keyboard by longpressing a text box, then input method (i think), If you have downloaded a new keyboard, you'll have to go to settings and enable it first.
Guest Bob Mann Posted November 14, 2010 Report Posted November 14, 2010 thanks, i managed to change it back to the default one and turn off the predictive spelling, only question i have now is how do i add a custom word to the phones dictionary?
Guest ChrisPW Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 downlaod better keyboard you will love it. Its so worth it . I've been using the "Über Keyboard" with my Pulse Mini for months now - its well worth trying the free version and seeing if that gives you all the options you need.
