Guest ezablade Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 presume it's not possible to extract the wi-fi bits out of the French ROM and try it in the R4 ROM?
Guest Simon O Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 presume it's not possible to extract the wi-fi bits out of the French ROM and try it in the R4 ROM? Probably not. But I know Paul will be making an MCR based on the French ROM soon. I'm running this VillianROM now and it's pretty good. The WiFi issue isn't here
Guest leetron1 Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 does it really have improved wifi? any one whose tried it please post here, cheers Installed yesterday..love it, especially after putting up with 2.2 ROM niggles for last week or so. Only issue is SD mount notification that needs tapping on to remove at restart...yeah, really sweet ROM>>

Guest flatnote31 Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 I had a go at it last night and removed it after 5 hrs of use.... Enjoy the artefacts!

Guest malooga Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Damn the WiFi issue has resurfaced this morning  I can honestly say i have never had a problem withmy wifi, with any rom.
Guest flatnote31 Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Out of curiousity, though, is there anyway to control A2SD via CLI ? I want to force-move all apps to SD rather than let it determine on its own. Also, on trying the standalone DT A2SD 2.7.2, it only passed the check once, but failed to reinstall apps on SD, and the rest of time it just fails to mount SD-ext. Do I take it as it can't fetch the proper block (looking for sd-ext in wrong place)? Because that's one issue he's currently working on. I just can't get my head around the point that someone on VillainRom actually managed to install 2.7.1 on r3/4 !!! I don't believe in hit 'n miss!
Guest voradorpt Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Hi, I've flashed this rom but when it reaches the "bladevillian" logo it just stays there (apparently looping). Any ideas?

Guest EMMJAY Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 does this ROM use the stock android dialer? or is it the same as stock from orange. -- Bince
Guest voradorpt Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 have you done a factory reset via recovery menu? Yeah, that was the problem. I eventually figured it out but thanks anyway

Cheers  but when I was checking with DiskUsage app, it still showed some apps (not Google) being stored on the internal drive, hence my question!

You can see the A2SD slice/usage using the Quick System Info App http://www.androlib.com/android.applicatio...sinfo-pznn.aspx

Disk usage shows that "some" apps are still on the internal drive, so I suspected it's behaving like Froyo's App2sd, allowing apps to install on drive. Even with r4 (baked with A2SD), internal storage kept shrinking (in paralel with sd-ext)

Even with r4 (baked with A2SD), internal storage kept shrinking (in paralel with sd-ext) Internal storage will shrink to an extent anyway, inline with the Dalvik cache, but you don't want to move that on to the SD card, unless it's a fast card, and even then, having the cache on it will shorten its life, as they have a finite read/write cycle life.

When I said "Disk Usage", I meant this : AppBrain-DiskUsage. It simply shows apps and partitions and how much space it uses.

Guest wl_sf Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 +1 for this. Best ROM I've used yet. Needed to unlock with IMEI number using tip on this post: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...e-unlock-codes/ Can you use the frameworks for other ROMs? Would like to use Espresso.

Even with r4 (baked with A2SD), internal storage kept shrinking (in paralel with sd-ext) That's because of Davalk Cache, you can move it to another partition but that's very complicated.
Guest wl_sf Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Installed Espresso (Desire V2) framework and I'm getting a large green button with a '+' floating at the top of the lock screen. Anyone have any idea what's causing it / a fix? Also now have no boot logo / animation, just a blank screen. Not so bothered about that, as I was try to dump those anyway, but is an issue.
