Guest Jwsail Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 Hi Guys, I just received my Motorala Defy at the weekend. A day and half after first playing with it and I am getting on quite well with it. First impressions are well made, and good interface. I am just using the stock ROM at the moment, but may look at cooking up Froyo in the future. With IPX7 it is one of the first really waterproof phones that can actually be used as a REAL smartphone. The only issues I have at the moment, are WiFi seems to turn itself on from time to time, and Layars seems to crash the phone occasionally. I have also not been able to get one of my virgin.net accounts to work, but think this may be down to a setting somewhere for the account. Does anybody know of a Range Finder app that uses the camera and known height of an object to calculate distance off? This combined with the bearing would be a good tool for sailors, and other outdoorsy folks. More posts to come after playing with it properly for a while. Cheers, John
Guest dkSpook Posted November 21, 2010 Report Posted November 21, 2010 It's an awesome phone - so awesome that it's got it's own forum now: Http://defy.modaco.com B) Just added a post to the thread, detailing how to get into recovery mode. Let the rom cooking begin! :)
