Guest bga Posted November 15, 2010 Report Posted November 15, 2010 WTF??!!! 160 MB RAM? *SYSTEM* Model: ZTE BLADE Manufacturer: ZTE Device: Blade Product: P729T_TMOBILE Brand: ZTE Firmware: 2.1-update1 Processor: ARMv6-compatible processor rev 5 (v6l) System RAM: 161 MB It should be the free RAM I think. Where did you get this number?
Guest bga Posted November 16, 2010 Report Posted November 16, 2010 It seems that the hungarian T-Mob version only contains 256MB physical RAM, 161MB usable. But the display is still AMOLED. Can anybody confirm?
Guest vapeti72 Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Hello, Somebody, if you can please upload the ZTE Blade hungarian (T-Mobile Hungary) version ROM somewhere. Előre is köszi. (Angliából hozatott cuccom van (San Francisco) és ezek a főzött romok nem nagyon jöttek be, ahogy láttam a T-nél mintha eredeti ZTE Blade ROM-mal adnák, mindenféle T-s személyre szabás nélkül)
Guest bga Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 It seems that the display is TFT. So it's a nice chinese version Blade. Somebody may try the untouched version of the leaked chinese 2.2 ROM.
"Fő kijelző méretek, felbontás, színtér 3.5 hüvelyk, 800*480 Fényképezőgép a készülék Érzékelő típusa CMOS hátulján Fénykép felbontás 3.2Megapixel Összes belső memória 512MB Eltávolítható memóriakártya microSD kártya támogatott A memóriakártya maximális mérete 16 GB" Ez van a T-mobile hivatalos magyar kézikönyvében. Guest Hofy Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) Any way to see how big is the built-in memory (256 mb or 512)? Edited November 17, 2010 by Hofy
Guest Hofy Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Update: English: -Its definitely TFT, and T-mobile didn't really hide this "feature" at all (it's printed on the packaging and shown on the homepage as well). But this TFT is very well readable and has quite good colors really, so I could care less about the AMOLED display (which has issues with whites and color processing sometimes, whereas TFT does not in general). -The ram is still a mystery for me, but it looks like a standard 256 mb ripoff to me. This is not a major drawback though, as 2.2 will be smaller and more ram/rom efficient, and 3.0 OS won't run on this machine anyway. I'll definitely go and ask the T-mobile guys why are they advertising their product with 512 mb ram, when in reality it's like 200-256 mb maximum. Ironically, I could have bought this phone for less (PAYG or something) with AMOLED screen and 512 mb ram from the UK. What is hilarious is that the salaries are like 4-5 times higher there, yet the phone costs less, and can do more in theory (personally I don't really care about the AMOLED display, has its drawbacks, but the -256 mb hurts). It's still a good bargain, but in my opinion people here (in Hungary) should wait with the purchase (its price will go down after a few weeks). Or even better, ask a friend from the UK  Hungarian: Na srácok kinyomoztam a dolgokat: -TFT 100%.
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 In a terminal (or adb) type the command "free" An Orange San Francisco will report a total of 424744kb

Guest Hofy Posted November 17, 2010 Report Posted November 17, 2010 Well, I dunno about RAM req of the Gingerbread, but 256 mb seems quite low. I'm confident that it will run the official Froyo without problems, but I don't have any official sources for you m8 on the Gingerbread release, I'm sorry (was reading rumors as well!).

Guest cobhc Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 Just to let you know that all you guys saying the UK version of the Blade is AMOLED, it is not, it's OLED, it doesn't have an active matrix.

Guest pbando Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 It seems hardware acceleration is oFF like in orange stock ROM. Heapsize is 24: debug.sf.hw=0 dalvik.vm.heapsize=24m
Guest The-One Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) Just to let you know that all you guys saying the UK version of the Blade is AMOLED, it is not, it's OLED, it doesn't have an active matrix. Thats right and wrong because and OLED is an AMOLED with a diferent pixel control method. However for the human eye there are 0 diferences in behaviour and color display. So in the end its an AMOLED. Guest kallt_kaffe Posted November 18, 2010 Report Posted November 18, 2010 The ROM seems to run fine on 512Mb blades aswell. Running it right now. Very clean. Still has the ugly inverted menus but there is no "extra" bloatware except for eval versions of roadsync and docstogo. Also touchpal is replaced with XT9 Text input. No setup wizard, goes directly to launcher.
