Patch for slow SD card read speed

Just want to give everyone a head's up that there's kernel fix to improve the sd card read speed for HTC Desire with Froyo/Sense ROMs. The info is in xda forum here:

I hope Paul can include this fix into the kernel in his ROMs. Right now I'm using Richardtrip's kernel (that includes this fix) with R9 and it's working very well.

I am using R9 with Sub501's kernel, and turns out the patch is not needed. (read_ahead_kb = 128)

Well, i was using the R9 kernel with all of Sub501's expert options turned and when I checked, read_ahead_kb was set to 4. I tested the SD card speed using SD Card Speed Tester and got only 2 MB/s read speed. After flashing Richardtrip's kernel the read speed went up to 10 MB/s

what class is your SD card ? Mines a Class 6 8GB card .. works fine ... everything works fine .. at a good speed ... does it increase my 8Mb/sec all the time ??? have you done some stats on this?
