How to Root the Desire?

OK I have successfully Rooted my ZTE Blade using Universal Androot. I have a friend who has a Desire and wants his phone Rooted, which is the best/most noob friendly way of doing this?

I have had a search but seems to be allot of tutorials, which one do people recommend?

Thanks, just tried but am getting the following error in unrevoked:

"Failed to push Recovery. Terminating.

Any Ideas?

Maybe try this m8? presuming you are using Windows ofc.

Are any drivers required?

On Linux and OS X, the program is self-contained. For Windows users, please install the HBOOT drivers available here.

I haven´t encountered that, I´ve never used HTC Sync, I´ve let Google do all syncing for me. So I don´t know the answer to that m8 sorry.

You HAVE to uninstall HTC Sync before using unrEVOked - it says so in their own guide
