zip code/postcode problem

I'm quite new to android so maybe I'm just missing something silly here.

When I fill out contacts it only gives me option of zip code not postcode. Not a big problem in itself but If I put postcode in this box then click the address to go to google maps it takes me about 20 miles from the postcode. If I insert the postcode into maps directly it brings me straight here. I can't for the life of me get addresses to go to the right place to use for satnav. Any ideas?
