change options menu background

is there a way to change the options menu background from black to white , that is the little options panel displayed when pressing the menu button.

also change the colour of the messaging app background from black to white.

I notice that in FROzen YOgurt, that when you pressing the the menu button, the options have white background.

but in the modaco ROM it is black. is there a way to do this for examples using root explorer and editing sum files.
