Only beaten by the Wildfire by 5 points

meh, the Wildfire has a better camera, and better build. The Blade has much better screen, and slightly better CPU, and more RAM if my memory serves me correctly. It's a fix guv!

Edit: check all the ads and branding around the article. . .

I've held and used both, and i must say that the Blade is much better, also more powerful than the wildfire. The build quality isn't that better, also because the wildfire has a weird was of taking the back side off. The camera could be argued about.

Also half of what it says in the reviews is wrong for example it says the pulse mini has no led flash. It does i have a pulse mini.

it's comparing an OLED 800x480 Android 2.1 Smartphone with 240 pixels 1.6 Android phones.

It has to be compared to the Samsung i900, Desire, etc.... not the hemaroids at the bottom of the pile...

Nice to see most of the posts suporting the SF... or is that cos we're all over there making ourselves heard?

looks quite biased towards the wildfire....

comparing prices of all other handsets....the SF is the cheapest most capable phone...

i wonder how people can admire the wildfire with a relatively slower processor, much smaller RAM, and awfully worse screen!!! hah ? hah ? hah?

EDIT: I subscribed to Reghardware just so I can post! worth it

Have played with a friend's Desire on 2.1, I 100% agree this is the best budget smartphone around. Getting beat by the wildfire is bad, that phone is awful. I can't take the thing serious with a screen like it has!

Saying that haven't touched my pulse mini since getting my SF

Yeah, it seems that the website is slightly biased...

well, for a phone £130 cheaper than the wildfire, its only 5 points behind

What a beauty!!

I had a wildfire, sold it to buy the san fran. The screen on the wildfire is s***, the res is too small, plus no gpu.

This by no means is true.

We must first ask if the ratings were decided beforehand in a meeting, or f the ratings were typed up as the article was typed up.

to 'paint a sketch' If i was to rate 2 movies on different days . e.g. wizard of oz and blade. i could give blade 85 and wizard of oz 90. but if asked the question which do you prefer most i would say blade but my rating 'opposes' this.

Doesn't really matter what the reg says, from a quick skim it doesn't even look as though they have gone into any details so probably don't even have many of the handsets to review.

Initially I missed the "ratings" and presumed they were ranked in descending order (large numbers on the right side), confusing.

Hold your horses - the Register article isn't ranking them one to ten - at the top it says it's listing them "...in alphabetical order..."

Which is why that poxy Acer phone comes first (A being among the first letters in the alphabet)

Totally agree though that the Wildfire shouldn't have beaten the blade to Editor's pick

Blade review was a bit less glowing than it would have been if they's spent any time with it...

It isn't, but it is, because they're each scored - and you'd have to be a blind donkey to rate the Wildfire higher than the San Fran.
